The Holiday

It's after midnight here...just wiping tears away...just watched The Holiday with Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, Jude Law, and Rufus Sewell.

...What a wonderful, touching, romantic comedy! I had low expectations for it, but it would seem, that the trailers had "sold it short."

It was a much "deeper" movie than I had expected. I loved it. I really loved it!

How could I not love this movie--the soundtrack was very good...it even included two songs from Imogene Heap/Frou Frou, AND one from James Taylor!

Rent it...you won't be sorry!

Watched it. Good film but totally implausible that an English girl could fall for an American guy ! Come on...next we'll be expected to believe that Sunnis and Shi'ites will join forces to attack the U.S. !! Or that the Christian God is superior to the Islamic God so we would be utterly justified in socking it to'em.....possibly by nuking Iran before it develops its own WMD....where have we heard that one before ??

What can I say, "Raven"-- John Cusack, or Luke Wilson, would have been much better cast as the Jack Black character--thus, adding to the plausibility of that relationship. After all, this guy has to be the romantic replacement for the Rufus Sewell character. And well, I can't be impartial here, since I fell in love with Rufus Sewell in "Dangerous Beauty."

FYI-Kate Winslett plays an American woman (exceptionally well) in "Little Children" --and THAT relationship is plausible! It's a powerful film.

Just seen "Stealing Beauty"...love Italy...and aspire to living there one day (anywhere really but Alabama). Before you die you must visit Capri and Venice...as well as many other parts of this hugely appealing country: beautiful language, cuisine, countryside, climate, people and fascinating historical buildings in abundance. Herculaneum is spell binding...but take care in case the local mountain decides to awaken. LOL
